A young couple re-locating from Europe to New York City purchased a two-bedroom apartment and asked Daedalus Workshop to improve the out-dated Kitchen and Master Bathroom.
We proposed to completely demolish the Kitchen and replace the wall between the Kitchen and Living area with a 10' long custom-designed Cooking Island with ample counter and storage space open to the Dining area. Simply adding a dropped soffit with concealed LED lighting from the Entry around to the Kitchen, along with carefully chosen pendant lights over the Island and Dining table, provides a fresh look that transforms the overall apartment without fully renovating the entire unit.
Project team: Richard Lucas, Lydia Kiehborth
Contractor: Highline Design and Construction
Millwork: H & H Architectural Woodwork
All of the fixtures and finishes were replaced in the Master Bathroom, and the tub was replaced with a glass-partitioned walk-in shower. In addition, a portion of the wall between the Master Bath and Bedroom was re-located to add a small built-in custom linen cabinet with drawers and additional counter space.
